Essentially there are two
styles of bridals; "Nosegays" and "Tied
Bouquets." Variations include "Colonials,"
"Cascades," "Semi-cascades,"
"Arm-bouquets," and "Garden- tied."
Traditionally, the Bride's
bouquet is of course all white (in reality, SHADES of white).
Color may be added to the Bride's bouquet or it may be
entirely "in color," but even now the tradition
prevails here.
Generally the Maid-of-Honor
will have a bouquet that is largely representative of the
Bride's but somewhat smaller, of slightly less flowers (or
lesser quality flowers) and often incorporating some of the
additional colors of the wedding theme. The remaining Bride's
Maid's bouquets will be consistent with one-another, but will
similarly step-down from the Maid-of-Honor's bouquet and will
add in more color with less (or no) white.
The current trend in
bouquets however has moved away from the traditional STYLE of
arrangement. Whereas the lace bouquet holder (i.e.
"nosegay") was once the modus-operandi, today the
less formal, more natural, long-stemmed tied-bouquet prevails.
